so we are driving to New York……not the city, but the country. yes, there is county life in New York! We are in Ohio and Zaiden FINALLY fell asleep. He only had a very short nap today so he was fighting sleep, and well who could blame the little guy….he’s sleeping in his car seat. But he sure is a trooper. Don’t worry…he’s not broken
Well I know it’s been a long time since we had an update. There has been so much that has happened. I don’t know where to start. I’ve recently created a subscriber email that will update you when new posts are made. I’m just testing this now.
No he hasn’t started a tunnel out of his crib. However our son is now able to pull himself up and reach over the top of his crib. We have already lowered the bed once. Looks like we are going to have to lower it again. The last couple of days Zaiden has accomplished many new things. Last Sunday during the Bears first game of the season Zaiden crawled over to me as I sat on the couch and pulled himself up to a standing position. I couldn’t believe it. Also, up until last night he was unable to sit up without assistance. He overcame that obsticle with ease. I have made the prediction that he will be walking by October 22th. That will be 2 months short of his first birtday. Although all this excitement has us wondering what he will do next, we still have to remember that he is just learning. He has a small scrape on his face to prove it. He was trying to talk to the people on the TV. Unfortunately there is nothing to hold on to and he face planted on the carpet scratching his cheek on the way down. Here are some pictures of him trying to escape from his crib.
Traditionally Labor Day weekend signifies the end of summer. Zaiden’s first Labor Day weekend definately went out with a bang. On Friday he spent the 2nd half of the day with family from Iowa. On Saturday the entire family loaded up in the car and drove to Chicago. Cousin Blaze wanted to see the Sears tower and I’m not talking from the ground. Let’s put it this way, Zaiden enjoyed his lunch 99 stories in the sky. The rest of day was spent barbequing and playing bean bags. Sunday Zaiden said goodby to his family from Iowa as they boarded the Amtrak train back west. Monday was spent relaxing and catching up with some laundry. All in all it was a good weekend. Too bad all weekends are not “Long” ones. Here are some pictures of his excursions.
Mom and Zaiden braved the traffic on a holiday weekend to make it to the train station. No they were not departing to some far off land. Nor were they going to travel the rails like the hobo’s of the 1920’s. They were there to pick up 3 lost souls from Iowa. Grandma, Aunt Cindy, and cousin Blaze toughed it out on a packed Amtrak train 4 plus hours to make it to Zaiden’s hometown. After many hugs and kisses it was off to home so the trio could beat sister Sierra home. Sierra had no clue we were going to have visitors. Dad was at work so he wasn’t here to see the excitment. I was told the gang of pranksters hid in the bathroom only to jump out and surprise Sierra. Well after the initial joke everyone calmed down. It was requested that Dad bring home White Castles for dinner. Apparently, White Castle is a myth west of the Mississippi river. Everyone gobbled up a crave case. Cousin Blaze made a tribute tower out of empty castle boxes. He proudly claimed 5 burgers from the case. Later that night he tried to blame what I call the “Residual Effect” on the dog.
It’s late here and everyone is just about in bed. The 3 day weekend should be exciting. No big plans are expected. There will be a lot of relaxing over the next couple of days. Goodnight all.
The last couple of days dad has been working with the video camera. It was a great investment however we don’t use it that often. That’s going to change. Now that Zaiden is learning new things everyday it’s important to have the battery charged and ready to go. I often wonder what he will think when he’s older and looks back at his site. Will he be embarased? Will he hate me? Will he delete it? Don’t worry, I have a backup. Well here is the next installment of video. Dad has been working with new video editing software so every new video should show improvement. Maybe one day some big Hollywood Exec comes across this site and Dad’s the next Martin Scorsese. Actually I think I have a better chance winning the lottery. I hope everyone loves this clip. It took me over an hour to produce. Yes, I’m waiting for someone to say “Thank You”
